Ash Wednesday

Today is Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent, the 40-day period of repentance and contrition we Christians have observed for centuries as a way of making plain and personal and palpable our walk with Christ. I wanted to say something new and profound about it today, but in reading over what I wrote last year, I don't really think I have anything new or profound to add, so I'll just refer you to what I said then.
